There are a number of reasons for unhealthy looking teeth: a lifetime of poor hygiene, an illness, gum disease, a genetic predisposition, even certain medicines can cause weakened or discolored teeth.
Porcelain veneers, are a cosmetic dental procedure that consists of thin porcelain ‘shells’ that are permanently bonded to the fronts of your teeth.
With this one procedure you can whiten your teeth, fix chips and cracks, close large gaps, and make teeth appear straighter, and protect yourself from sensitivity due to worn enamel.
Unlike a dental crown, very little tooth is lost in preparation for a veneer. With a crown, your tooth is filed way down so the crown, or cap, can be placed over it.
To prepare a tooth for a veneer approximately a 1/2 millimeter of enamel is removed, etching, from the surface of your tooth which ends up being about the thickness of the veneer.
Keep in mind that your veneers might not perfectly match the color of your other teeth and once they’re on, they cannot be replaced. It’s recommended to whiten your teeth prior to getting your veneers.
It takes about 3 visits to complete your veneer procedure:
- Consultation, exam and x-ray
- Prep your teeth, take impressions, and decide on the ideal shape and color of your veneers
- Veneers are bonded to your teeth
With proper care and oral hygiene, veneers can last 7 – 15 years before needing to be replaced.

As a rule of thumb, you want to keep your natural tooth if at all possible and dental crowns can help you do just that. Only a real tooth has roots and roots are what keep your jawbone healthy and strong. A strong jawbone retains the shape of your face and integrity of the other teeth. Without a root, the bone in your jaw very quickly begins to wear away.
A dental crown encases, or caps, a chipped or otherwise unhealthy tooth, restoring it’s appearance and function while protecting the natural tooth and root within.
A crown is usually made from porcelain and designed match your other teeth. It’s fitted onto an existing tooth by filing down the tooth in question so the crown can fit over the top like a cap.
Dental crowns can be used in conjuncture with dental bridges and dental implants or any of our other cosmetic treatments to complete your ideal smile.

Invisalign is often referred to as “clear braces” and is ideal for correcting over crowding, over and underbites, spacing issues and minor relapses following traditional orthodontics and has become a very popular cosmetic dental treatment.
The appeal of Invisalign is that it doesn’t ruin the aesthetic of your smile, being essentially invisible.
Your Invisalign are custom made clear trays or aligners worn for 20 – 22 hours a day in stages to gradually move teeth into a desired position.
An exam is necessary to start your Invisalign case, so come in to 4M Dental Implant Center and get started today.
For years dentures have been the way to replace one’s teeth.
If you want to smile again, restore the structure of your face, and return your ability to speak more clearly, dentures are worth considering. Though you can’t dive in and eat anything you want, many foods are accessible with dentures.
Dentures can be removed by you and should be every night in order to clean them. Make sure to handle them with care because they can break if they’re dropped.
Common complaints are their tendency for ‘floating’, shifting around in your mouth while speaking or eating, sometimes at inopportune moments, but dental adhesives can be used to help keep them in place. Dentures are bulky and cover up tastebuds which will affect how well you taste food.
Dentures can quickly restore the aesthetics of your smile at a lower cost, but with you aren’t going to get the quality of life back you can with dental implants.
It only takes Zoom whitening an hour to whiten and brighten your smile. Zoom whitening uses an accelerated bleaching process to lighten stains and discoloration on your teeth.
Smoking, red wine, certain medications, coffee, and aging can all contribute to dark spots on your teeth. Zoom uses a bleaching mixture that penetrates your tooth’s enamel to bleach from the inside out. With the help of the Zoom Advanced Power Lamp, it activates and accelerates the bleaching process so your teeth can get up to 8 shades whiter in one office visit.
The in office Zoom procedure consists of three 15 minute, same day, sessions. Prior to starting, you’ll need to have your teeth cleaned. Your lips and gums will be prepped to keep the gel from getting on them and the gel will remain on your teeth for each 15 minute session.
Post procedure you can expect heightened sensitivity so be cautious when eating or drinking things that are very hot or cold.
For those of you who prefer the control or a more subtle, gradual change, we offer a Zoom take home kit. We’ll provide you with custom shaped bleaching trays with the same professional strength bleaching gel you would get here in our office. This is a terrific option for patients with extra sensitive teeth.
