4M Dental Implants

What are 4M Dental Implants?

Your smile is your calling card, your first impression, a feature that sets you apart. People you meet remember your smile—good or bad.

If your smile isn’t what you want it to be, through an accident, or genes, or poor dental care, and if you’ve done a little research, you’ve probably discovered most people—dentists and patients alike—think no other option looks, feels, and functions more like real teeth than 4M Dental Implants.

The 4M Dental Implant procedure is the gold standard of dental implants; it’s a specialized, high-end dental implant solution for missing or diseased teeth.

In a matter of hours, 4M solves the expensive and time consuming problem of multiple dental visits for an implant here, a crown or two there, and a bridge here. With 4M, Dr. Sean can replace an entire arch of teeth in one day.

4M Dental Implants replace severely compromised or missing teeth.

The teeth you receive with 4M are called a prosthetic or denture, and are secured to four titanium posts in your jaw. They are permanent, only removable by your dentist, they don’t cover your palette, they aren’t bulky, and are lightweight.

Real Self Dental Implant Top Doctor

The necessity of an experienced 4M Dental Implant specialist is paramount, and Dr. Sean has successfully placed 4M Dental Implants for over 20 years, taking on the most complex of cases. He has the skill to not only design a beautiful, personalized smile for you, but the experience to know when someone isn’t a good candidate and suggest an alternative treatment. Dr. Sean has your best interest at heart.

On the other hand, a traditional denture is held in place by natural suction and often slip out of place. Your denture is supported by soft tissue, covers much of your palette, inhibiting your ability to fully taste food, and is removable by you.

4M’s are ideal for people looking for a permanent solution to replacing teeth, older patients and those who’ve been without teeth for a long time. The precise angling of the implants is how Dr. Sean is able to maximize bone even when very little is left.

The 4M Dental Implant Treatment allow you to eat without pain. You’ll be able to taste all your favorite foods. You don’t have to be embarrassed to laugh or speak, and the biggest relief is that you can finally stop thinking about your teeth all the time.

Gone are the days of cavities; maintain a healthy oral hygiene routine and keep your regularly scheduled dental visits and your implants can last a lifetime.

By taking into account your lifestyle, your personality, the shape of your face, your bite, and the way you smile, Dr. Sean plans your 4M Implants with your quality of life in mind.

Dentures vs Dental Implants

About Dentures

You used to have a great smile and you want it back. Dentures are the obvious choice, they’re familiar, they’ve been around for centuries, and you’ve known family members who’ve had them, but you’ve been hearing a lot about dental implants lately and are curious what the differences are between dentures and dental implants.

If you’re embarrassed about your lack of teeth, dentures will restore your smile. Dentures are dental prosthetics that sit on top of your gums to mimic natural teeth and no surgery is required.

The up front costs for dentures are less than those of implants, but implants can last a lifetime, whereas dentures will need replacing, relining, maintenance, and adhesives. Over time, these costs add up.

Dentures aren’t anchored to your jaw bone the way implants are. Without a tooth root (natural or an implant) in your jaw, you’ll lose bone density and with that your facial structure, which leaves you with an older appearance.

Maintenance for dentures is more involved. Everyday they need to be removed, scrubbed, and soaked overnight. They have a tendency to slip out of place, especially the lower denture, so adhesives need to be used and reapplied throughout the day.

An unfortunate consequence of repeated removal is that they are sometimes misplaced, or dropped and broken. Replacing dentures may happen more often than you expect.

  • Dentures are familiar, they’ve been used for centuries.

  • Restore your smile.

  • Less expensive up front.

  • No surgery needed.

  • The process for receiving dentures is usually quicker than that of implants.

  • Some patients prefer being able to take them out to clean.

  • Dentures are bulky.

  • Tend to slide in your mouth.

  • They tend to rub on gums, which can be uncomfortable.

  • Often adhesives are needed to keep denture in place.

  • It must be removed every night and cleaned.

  • Must avoid certain foods.

  • They affect your ability to taste foods.

  • Dentures do not last nearly as long as implants. They will need replacing or relining over the course of their lifetime – this is where the costs start to add up!

Dentures vs Dental Implants

About Dental Implants

Like dentures, implants will restore your smile, however, the benefits don’t just stop there.

4M’s are the most natural looking replacement for teeth. Not only do they look real, but they feel and function like real teeth too.

Implants are screwed into your jaw so they’re permanent. You don’t need to concern yourself with adhesives because they won’t slip when you’re eating and they won’t slide out of place when you’re talking.

Enjoy eating again now that you have implants and taste the many delicious flavors food has to offer. 4M’s are durable without the extra bulk that covers up many tastebuds.

Living with decaying, painful teeth would certainly make chewing painful if not impossible.

Tooth decay has complications that go further than just your teeth, it has been linked to heart disease, respiratory infections, and diabetic complications to name a few.

Dental implants return your ability to chew without pain and help to improve your overall health.

Our jawbones stay healthy as long as there is a healthy root within them. When a tooth is lost, so is the root, and shortly thereafter bone will begin to wear away, and as bone is lost, so is your facial structure.

A weakened jaw line leaves one with an older, sunken look, but once it’s screwed into your jaw, the implant becomes a tooth root preserving the integrity of your bone and structure of your face.

Maintenance for 4M’s is minimal. Brush like you normally would, use your HydroFloss after you eat, and come in for all your scheduled cleanings.

With a full arch 4M procedure, we’ll include a HydroFloss for free.

  • Implants are the most natural looking option for replacing teeth.

  • Implants are permanent, comfortable, and provide a peace of mind.

  • They won’t slip or slide. No adhesives needed.

  • Eating all your favorite foods is possible and painless.

  • Implants are not bulky and don’t interfere with your ability to taste food.

  • Improve your overall health.

  • Implants replace your tooth roots preserving your jaw bone.

  • Minimal maintenance.

  • Require surgery and some time to heal.

  • Initial costs are more expensive.

  • Jawbone must be of a certain health and density for implants to anchor to.

  • Patients with a history of smoking or untreated diabetes have higher instances of implant failure.

Case Study:

What you’re looking at here is the lower jaw of a 4M Dental Implant patient at the one month post op.

  • Remaining teeth have been extracted.
  • Four titanium implants have been placed and screwed into the jaw bone.
  • Gums have been sewed up.
  • The silver you see outside the gums are the abutments. Abutments attach to the implants in the bone and then the prosthetic (the row of teeth) is attached to the abutments.
  • The patient is given  temporaries (temporary or healing teeth) to wear while gums and bone heal and the implant fuses with jaw.

After patient has healed and the implants are securely in the bone (about 4 to 6 months), the patient will return to receive finals. The finals are the permanent teeth which are attached to to the abutments.

4M makes it possible to secure an entire arch of teeth, sturdy and permanent, with only four implants.

Teeth in a Day with 4M

Walk in with your old teeth and walk out the same day with a brand new smile. With the 4M Dental Implant procedure you leave the same day with new teeth.

4M patients who have at least one arch replaced are fitted with a set of temporary teeth or temporaries. Your temporaries are high quality, interim teeth that look much like how your final teeth, or finals, will look.

Once your jaw has healed from surgery and the implant has stabilized in the bone, will you then receive your permanent teeth.

Everyone heals differently, but in general healing takes 4 to 6 months.

Dental Implants – A Word to the Wise

Know What You’re Paying For

Teeth in a day is sometimes sold to you as if you’re leaving the day of surgery with your finals, when in fact they are your temporaries or healing dentures.

The difference between temporaries and finals is significant. Temporaries are an attractive set of teeth, but do not have a titanium bar milled inside them. Finals are the exact shade and shape you desire, plus the titanium bar.

We use a custom milled, grade 5 Ti6Al4V ELI titanium bar designed specifically for your finished 4M prosthetic. This bar is extremely lightweight and extremely strong – it’s what enables you to safely eat all your favorite foods: crunchy, chewy, hard, you can have them all.

4M Dental Implant prosthetic and titanium bar

On the other hand, temporaries, are made without the bar and is done so for a few reasons:

  • You don’t want to be chewing tough foods while your implants and bone are integrating – doing so could cause the implant to fail.
  • It would significantly add to the cost of the procedure.
  • As you’re healing, and swelling subsides, the shape of your jaw/mouth/gums change, and as this takes place your prosthetic stops fitting properly. You would find yourself having to buy a whole new titanium bar to fit the shape of your newly healed mouth.

Make sure when you get a quote for your dental implants that the price includes the final set of teeth. To give the illusion of a lower price, some places will quote you the procedure up to the temporaries, but you’ll soon discover that there is another chunk of money you’ll have to come up with in order to get your finals.

What’s Included

At the 4M Dental Implant Center, all dental implant consultations are FREE, with a complete exam and X-rays taken. You will leave the office that day knowing exactly what needs to be done and exactly what it will cost you – from the first impression we take to your very final set of teeth.

And we don’t stop there. Every 4M Dental Implant treatment includes a Hydro Floss® oral irrigator. You don’t have to worry about cavities, but you still need to take care of your gums; along with brushing, a Hydro Floss is a necessity. This helps heal your gums after surgery and gets under the gum line when brushing alone can’t.

Your 4M also includes your first annual cleaning and a LIFETIME WARRANTY on your implants.

Remember:  ‘Implant’ is specifically the titanium post in your jaw, it is not the whole prosthetic. This is often a confusing point, but be aware of what exactly is covered under a warranty when a practice says they offer one.
